The Sound Devices MixPre 6 II is a compact field recorder that punches well above its weight. It is a favourite for run and gun shoots, location sound, interviews, documentaries, podcasts and film shoots where you need clean audio in a compact package.

Four incredible Kashmir preamps with super low self noise, so quiet voices, subtle atmos and detailed dialogue come through properly. It records up to six channels and gives you all the controls you'd expect. Gain, pan, low cut, phase invert, channel linking, plugins and 48V phantom power.
Timecode is covered too. The MixPre 6 II has an internal LTC timecode generator but can also work with external timecode boxes like the Tentacle Sync E mkII through the aux input.

It also records in 32 bit float, which gives you more room to recover tricky audio when levels jump unexpectedly. Handy for fast moving shoots, run and gun, unpredictable talent and anyone who has ever been burned by a clipped take and a bad mood on set.

Our MixPre 6-II comes packed in an Orca OR270 audio bag and can run on portable power or wall power depending on your setup.
