Creative Kicks was engaged by INTREC for Holmesglen Institute to capture drone and ground photography and drone video of the construction of the world-class training facility at the Drummond Street Campus in Chadstone, Victoria. The Victoria Tunnelling Centre (VTC) is an Australian-first, providing Holmesglen with a state-of-the-art facility to educate and skill thousands of students in underground construction and tunnelling.
The project involved the design, construction, installation and commissioning of two full-sized replica tunnels within the new Centre, created to the exact specifications used by Melbourne’s Metro Tunnel. The first of which is a replica Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), and the other a replica Tunnel Boring Machine-created tunnel. Features such as high capacity drainage and a cross passage were implemented to mimic high-risk environments and allow simulated shotcrete operations. Additionally, two multi-purpose engineering workshops (one wet and one dry) were constructed, along with front of house facilities including amenities and an entrance hall. |
