EQUIPMENT SETUP GUIDES

These guides walk you through setting up, testing and packing down the gear you've hired from us. We're building them out as we go, so bear with us. They're coming soon. In the meantime, check the info that comes with your booking and give us a call during opening hours if you can't find the right guide.

Before you begin

Before you connect or power anything:

  • Check you've got every case and component
  • Keep power switched off while making connections
  • Never force a plug or connector
  • Turn speaker and audio levels down before you start
  • Switch speakers on last, turn them off first
  • Keep liquids well away from all equipment

Testing your setup

Test the complete setup before guests, performers, crew or guests arrive.

  • Every microphone
  • Every speaker
  • Left and right outputs
  • Playback devices
  • Batteries
  • Spare cables
  • Recording media
  • Headphones and monitoring
  • Signal levels

Don't leave your first full test until the event's started.

Stop and contact us when

Stop using the equipment if:

  • It smells hot or burnt
  • Liquid has entered it
  • A cable is damaged
  • A plug is loose or exposed
  • The equipment repeatedly shuts down
  • There is visible physical damage
  • It produces unusual noise
  • It appears unsafe

Do not open, dismantle or attempt to repair the equipment.
