RODECaster Podcast Package hire in Melbourne. Two Shure SM7Bs, a RODECaster Pro II, headphones, arms and every lead, so the episode sounds like it belongs on Spotify and not like it was recorded on a laptop in a kitchen.

This is the kit for a podcast that’s basically done when you press stop. The SM7B is the broadcast standard for a reason: it doesn’t worry about the room, forgives a nervous guest and makes an average voice sound like radio. The RODECaster Pro II runs the show, with four inputs, one touchscreen, sound pads for your intro and stings, and no menu you need a manual for. Records to a card inside the unit or straight into your computer over USB, so the edit starts the moment you wrap, and it’ll take a phone call or a remote guest over Bluetooth or USB when someone can’t be in the room. A Cloudlifter CL-2 is in the box so the SM7Bs have gain to spare, two RODE PSA1 arms keep the mics where you put them, and two pairs of Audio Technica headphones mean both hosts hear what the listener will.

Forget cheap USB mics from Amazon that cost you three hours in the edit fixing bad audio. This is the kit we use on our own podcast jobs, tested before it leaves and labelled so the email chain is about the conversation and not the audio issues.

Good for: two person podcasts, interview shows, remote guest setups, branded audio, voiceover days and anyone who wants the studio sound without the studio bill.

Good to know: Want it on camera too? We can add three Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K cameras, an ATEM Mini Pro ISO switcher and an Aputure lighting kit. Ask before you book. Prefer every voice on its own track in 32 bit float? That’s the MixPre Podcast Package, same mics on a Sound Devices MixPre 6 II. Tighter budget? The PodMic Podcast Package swaps the SM7Bs for Rode PodMics. And if lugging gear is the problem, our podcast studio in Footscray has all of this set up and a person to run it.
