Security deposit: From $200, released once the gear is checked back in.
ID check: 100 points of ID. Have it ready before you book.
Pickup: Footscray. Your selected time is your gear collection time.
Weekends: Friday 3pm to Monday 10am is charged as 1.5 days.

This is the location sound kit we use on drama, broadcast and high end branded jobs. The Sound Devices 633 is an industry standard mixer and recorder: six inputs, inbuilt timecode and a bag that sits comfortably over your shoulders on a twelve hour shoot day. A Lectrosonics SRb dual channel receiver runs two SMQv transmitters with Sanken COS11 D lavaliers, the radio system you see on most Australian TV sets, because it holds its link in a city full of phones and other crews. The MKH416 lives in a Rycote windshield on an Ambient QP 565 boom pole, so the boom track is clean when the lavs rustle. V-lock battery distribution powers the whole bag for 8 hours plus, so nobody is swapping batteries mid take.

Plenty of sound kits in Melbourne centre around a Zoom recorder and fall over at 4pm on day two. Every piece of this bag is gear we run on our own location sound jobs, tested before it goes out and on Block 22 so it plays nicely with the rest of the Melbourne spectrum. Hired separately it would cost a lot more than the kit price.

Good for: feature films, TVCs, drama, reality, documentary, broadcast and corporate shoots where you get one take and the client is watching the monitor.
