Pioneer DJ have released a brand new four-channel mixer, the Pioneer DJM-A9, aimed at the high end DJs and clubs. The DJM A9 is the successor the DJM 900 NXS2, with upgrades to the sound quality, EQ, effects, microphone section and Beat FX. The DJM A9 comes fitted with a new ESS Technology 32-bit A/D converter for the channel inputs and 32-bit D/A converters for both the booth and master outputs – meaning the same sound quality in the booth as on the dancefloor and upping the sound quality massively over the previous gen mixers.

There is greater spacing between the EQ knobs, to allow DJs more control and flexibility when mixing, as well as a brand new Sound Color FX Center Lock feature (which can be turned on and off), which will prevent DJs from accidentally going the other way when bringing the effects knob back to center.

The DJM-A9 is compatible with upcoming Pioneer DJ technology Stagehand, an iPad app that will allow front of house teams and sound engineers to have greater control over sound levels, to get the best out of systems without having to enter the DJ booth.
